The Amagumo fabric from Tanuki is a unique creation that showcases the signature texture of the brand and fusing it with unique dyeing techniques. The Amagumo is dyed by using black beans which gives the weft a unique grey/blue colour that will yield lovely fades over time.
At 15oz and in One Wash, this fabric is perfect for every season and has been washed and hung to dry in the sun once at the factory already to mitigate shrinkage and streamline the breaking process of this denim. This takes the guesswork out of the shrinkage and allows for you to get a great ready-to-wear product with minimal variance due to the loose weave nature of this fabric. Please note that due to the loose weave we recommend grabbing a size close to your skin measurement so that you can break in the garment right out the gate rather than washing immediately for shrink to fit.
Tanuki has experimented quite extensively with this dyeing technique.Natural dye works great with quality plant fibres so Tanuki opted for a high-quality cotton blendthatholds the dye better which results in an amazing weft. The stitching for this one is quite special: A variety of contrasting blue and yellow threads which really stand out.
The jeans are made with all the superior-quality Tanuki details such as copper hardware, Tanuki logo embroidered back pocket detail and the iconic Tanuki custom vegetable-tanned deerskin leather patch.
The cut is a modern high-tapered fit "lifters cut". The taper is pretty aggressive so that it gives a more modern slim-fitting silhouette while allowing for a lot of space at the thighs with a high rise for ease and movement.
